Phil's story
Phillip H. Wang's life journey began on March 6, 1994 in Columbus, Ohio. He was born to parents Hong Wu and Dian Wang, and older brother to Sabrina Wang. He moved to Brookfield, Wisconsin in 2002, where he grew up, attending Hillside Elementary, Wisconsin Hills Middle School, and Brookfield Central High School. He graduated from Waukesha North High School in 2012 and proceeded to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he graduated with a degree in English.
In his 24 years, Phil was an amazing person in all walks of life. He was a dear friend to many, a proud cat-dad, and an 8-year-long boyfriend to Cristina Olvera. All of these people, along with his family, can attest to his goofy sense of humor, fun-loving spirit, and deeply caring soul. He had an uncanny ability to bring light and smiles to everyone he talked too, and we hope to continue to embody this as we celebrate his life. He was also generous to share many of his talents, including music through violin and piano, chess, football, gaming, good food, and his love for reading and writing poetry. In fact, Phil began publishing his work from a very young age through newspapers and competitions, starting in elementary school and publishing in middle school, in high school, and in college, too, where he has publications pending now. He is deeply missed by all who have known him.
